What should I wear?
Comfortable athletic clothes. If you don’t have a gi yet, that’s totally fine.
Will I be expected to spar?
Not in your first class. Beginners start with basics and light drills.
Do I need any experience?
Not at all. Most first-timers have zero martial arts background.
What if I feel nervous?
Completely normal. Everyone was new once, and the environment is welcoming.
Will I roll with advanced people?
Only if it makes sense. Coaches pair you intentionally so you feel supported, not overwhelmed.
Do I need to be in shape first?
Nope. BJJ meets you where you are. You’ll build strength and stamina as you go.
Is it safe?
Yes. Classes are supervised, techniques are controlled, and safety is always the priority.
How long is class?
Usually around one hour, depending on the program.
How often should I train?
Two to three times a week is a great start, but we’ll help you find your rhythm.
How fast will I see progress?
Most people feel more confident within a few weeks, and technique builds steadily over time.
